Croatia has become a paradise for tourists, thanks to the gastronomy, towns, castles and emblematic buildings, beaches and islands, natural parks, beautiful landscapes and the autochthonous flora and fauna. Its entrance into the economical and political world is helping this country to be discovered by a market that had not realised the marvellous charms always kept there.
‘Our Beauty’ is the way the local people call this country, which has 1.185 islands, coral reefs, covering a big part of the coastal line of the country: 5.835 kilometres. There are 50 inhabitated islands, and the largest ones are Krk and Cres, where the white head vultures still live there.
When visiting this country, it is essential to make a stop in the area of Istria and Novi Vinodolski. Furthermore, Croatia has seven National Parks, five of them in the coast and two inland, all offering an extraordinary richness in flora and fauna. The most important ones are the Brijuni Park with holm oak forests; the National Park of Risnjak, famous for the reserve of lynxes; the National Park of Paklenica and the National Park of Plitvice, where there are bears, wolves and deers.
With regards to climate, in this Adriatic Region there is a traditional Mediterranean weather with many sunny days, dry and warm summers, and mild and humid winters. |
